Watchmen

Damn so this was a totally different experience for me coming back to dance in a completely different light. My approach with this performance, my piece, just where I’m coming from in life, and even the practices was completely different. It might not be as apparent as compared to before but regardless this was different  for me in my heart, mind, and soul. I was trying to be me with the choreo, blocks, dynamics, songs, vibe, etc. It was a very different experience I had with dance and performing! Felt good =)

My piece… Maxwell’s verse to Fire We Make by Alicia Keys. whoooo seriously I did not know what to expect. This piece was something I was just working on in the background but I ended up using it =O haha. So crazy just a couple of weeks ago I was debating if should even do the performance and now it’s done and over with.. so crazy how things turn out.

I think its becoming more and more apparent to myself in my own heart, how much I love dancing. I might not feel as skilled as everyone else is these days, but hey this is me in the dance scene. Especially after taking a long break and coming from a new perspective after I accepted God this definitely was a turning point in my perspective as a dancer/choreographer/student. Very interesting.

To those that said wsup and appreciated the piece/set it really means a lot to me. Although our set wasn’t as clean as I would’ve liked it was still an honor and a blessing to share the stage with these guys, let alone have my own piece in the set. I’ve danced with these guys for about 3 years (some even more) haha we hella mess around but I guess thats what I love about it. It wouldn’t be the same now that I think about it. Any who thank you for allowing me to share the stage with you watchmen.

Thank you God, for always being there for me. Especially through dance. Some may see it differently, but the way that you showed it to me in my heart, eyes, mind, and soul.. its a true blessing to be able to move this body that you gave me to captivate the music and feelings that I could never describe through words.
