So I get this question a lot since it’s basically my online identity. I use it for facebook, twitter, tumblr, e-mail, any video games on console or computer, internet forums, etc. There is no other pengu56 on the internet lol.
Pengu56 is actually a combination of a couple of things. While it isn’t short for penguin (a common misconception), I’ve had people call me penguin just because it’s easier to remember & say.
The concept behind my username came from my old friend Allan Pham. When we played Counter-Strike together, his name was “Alpha”. It was a combination of “al” from Allan and “pha” from Pham.
Seriously, taking letters from his name made the word ALPHA. How fucking badass is that?! I thought this was SO BAMF that when we made a clan for shits and giggles, I made my name the same way.
I got “pe” from Peter, and I put it together with “ngu” from Nguyen. And that’s how I got pengu. Not as cool, but I guess it stuck. Besides, I needed a new identity besides aznfunnieb0i post-high school (but that’s a whole ‘nother story).
The 56 comes from my birthday, May 6th. No real significance besides the fact that pengu looked boring on its own, and I didn’t want to put 89 because that’s cheesy as fuck.
And that’s that!
